Message from the
Director of Estates
Welcome to the inaugural issue of Archstone, the newsletter of the Estates Office.
This newsletter marks the launch of a new communication platform for dialogue between the Estates Office and the University community.
In architectural engineering, the archstone takes on and locks together the intense lateral compressive forces in holding the supporting structure together.
I chose the name “Archstone” as it reflects our role as a cornerstone in building and sustaining the University’s future. Just as an archstone provides strength and stability to a structure, our team works diligently — often behind the scenes — to support the University's growth. We remain committed to maintaining and creating functional, sustainable campuses that serve the students, academia and administration, as well as society at large.
Each issue of Archstone will be a reflection of our ongoing efforts, milestones, and project updates. Through this publication, we aim to foster a dynamic and interactive dialogue that enhances understanding and engagement between the Estates Office and our stakeholders.
Please share your thoughts and suggestions via the QR code provided at the end of this Newsletter.
We look forward to hearing from you.
